Community Helps Police ID Person involved In Hit-Run Crash In Seymour

The Seymour Police Department thanked the public for helping them crack a hit-and-run case.

A man wanted for questioning in a hit-and-run turned himself into police after his photo was posted on Facebook.

On Wednesday, the department said on Facebook: Thank you for your assistance in this matter. We have identified the individual and he has been down to the department to assist with the investigation.

The hit-and-run they asked for help with took place on Dec. 12, 2018, at the McDonald's between 8:20 and 8:30 p.m.

In the original story, police described the man as being a white male, wearing a black shirt, black jacket, blue jeans, and tan boots. 

The vehicle is a light-colored pickup truck with a cap in the rear bed and bearing CT combination plate.

The post had 61 shares, sending the man in question to turn himself in.
